A Schuylkill County man was jailed over the past weekend charged with running his pickup truck into a group of teenagers, seriously injuring two of them.

State police at Frackville said George Leonard Klipola, 38, of Middleport, has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated and simple assault and other charges stemming from an incident that occurred between 4 and 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 18.

Troopers said Klipola got into a physical altercation with four males, three of then juveniles, in a wooded area off Kaska Road in Blythe Township. Klipola got into his pickup truck and drove it into the four.

Two 17-year-olds, one from New Philadelphia and the other from Valley View, were struck by the truck and pulled under it and run over, troopers said.

The two suffered serious injuries and were flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Joseph Rolenaites, 18, of Middleport, was also struck by the truck but was thrown to the side and suffered moderate injuries. Another 17-year-old from Pottsville suffered an arm injury during the physical altercation, troopers said.

Klipola was taken into custody and arraigned by duty District Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah and committed to the county prison after failing to post $75,000 straight cash bail.
