Several Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violations of the liquor code.
Mazloom's Bar, 57-50 Valley St., New Philadelphia, was cited for failing to clean its malt beverage dispensing system every seven days. The violations occurred on Dec. 1 and 10, 2010; and Jan. 20 and Feb. 24, the complaint states.
Eagle Beverage Inc., 221 E. Market St., Orwigsburg, was cited for issuing checks on March 4 with insufficient funds to cover them.
Main Street Bar and Grill, 316-318 S. Main St., Shenandoah, was cited because its corporation was not the only one pecuniarily interested in the operation of the business from Nov. 28, through Dec. 28, 2010.
Uptown Tavern, 6 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, was cited for violating the Clean Air Act on March 18 by allowing smoking in public place where smoking is prohibited.
Two businesses in Minersville were cited. Yockos, 18 N. Delaware Ave., was cited for failing to vacate their premises no later than 30 minutes after alcohol had stopped being served on Feb. 19; and Uncle Cones, 16-18 Westwood St., was cited for selling or furnishing alcohol to a visibly intoxicated person on March 27.
The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
