The driver involved in a one-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County was cited.

State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 4:29 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, along Park Place Road in Mahanoy Township.

Troopers said Jeremy M. Schrepple, 27, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2007 Toyota Scion northbound when he failed to negotiate a left curve.

The passenger side of the vehicle went onto the berm causing Schrepple to lose control.

The car went off the southeast side of the road and struck a tree with the front end.

Schrepple sustained a minor injury and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the Mahanoy City West End Rescue unit and ambulance.

Troopers said he will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Troopers also reported on a one vehicle crash that occurred about 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday along SR1005 in North Union Township, in which speed was a factor. Troopers said Andrew S. Thompson, 23, of Lafayette, Ind., was driving a 2005 Suzuki GSX at a high rate of speed southbound when he failed to negotiate a right hand turn.

The vehicle slid onto its left side and crossed the northbound lane and continued in the lane for a distance before going onto the berm where it came to rest.

Thompson was taken to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for treatment of what troopers said was a moderate injury.

Troopers said he will be cited.
