he Theater Club, a spinoff of the Carbon Schuylkill Community Theater, is holding its next workshop on Sunday evening, July 10 at 7 p.m. at the Carbon County Cultural Project, next to the Flow restaurant at 268 W Broadway, Jim Thorpe.

The workshop on Ad-Libbing A Character on the Fly will be led by Mark Davalos. Davalos is a professional wrestling instructor who has appeared on three episodes of the Jerry Springer Show.

Davalos will introduce the psychological principals of pro wrestling, and discuss how a person develops a relationship to to a character, how to capture an audience, and how to ad-lib on the fly in front of an audience.

"People will learn how to incorporate a character into themselves, make it a part of themselves, and portray that," Davalos explained. "They will learn how to speak tonot just to the front row, but to people twenty rows out, and to tell a story using body language."

After an introduction, participants will have an opportunity to practice these character development ideas.

The event is free and the public is invited.
