State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating an attempted burglary, theft and criminal mischief incidents.

The attempted break-in occurred at the residence of Dora Pontecorvo, 67, of 1103 Ryenolds Rd., Indian Mountain Lakes, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said while the victim was sleeping someone attempted to gain entery to the home through a window but an alarm was activated.

Troopers said the alarm company notified Pontecorvo that the south side window was open. She went to the area and found the screen had been pushed in and the window slightly opened. The alarm apparently scared off the intruders.

The incident occurred about 6 a.m. on June 25.

Melissa Irene Young, of 139 Gower Rd., Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported her high school class ring was removed from the bathroom of her home. The incident occurred sometime between May 25 at 7 p.m. and May 26 at 6 a.m.

Linda Ann Vitti, 53, of 605 Old Stage Rd., Penn Forest Township, reported the rear window on her 1999 Ford Expedition was smashed while parked in the driveway outside her home.

The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on Monday, June 27, and 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Damages were estimated at $280.
