After 32 years of providing excellent eye care to his patients, Dr. Frank J. Bobick is retiring.
His career began on July 11, 1978 when he joined with Dr. Ben Houser and Dr. Fred Dankmyer at the Mahoning Valley Eye Center on Route 443.
While practicing with Drs. Houser and Dankmyer, Dr. Bobick saw patients at eight different offices: Shamokin, Mt. Carmel, Ashland, Pottsville, Hazleton, Mahanoy City, Palmerton and the Mahoning Valley Eye Center. He was also on staff of eight different hospitals: Shamokin Hospital, Ashland General, Pottsville Hospital & Warne Clinic, Good Samaritan Hospital, Coaldale State Hospital, Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Palmerton Hospital and the Ambulatory Surgical Center of Hazleton.
On December 1, 1987 he began seeing patients at 301 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. It was there that he began his own practice in January of 1990 as Frank J. Bobick, M.D. and Associates. He subsequently established offices in Lehighton and Nesquehoning.
Dr Bobick rejoined Houser Newman Associates in January of 2003, effectively combining the resources of both practices. It also insured that when Dr Bobick eventually retired, that his patients would continue to receive excellent care from the Houser Newman doctors.
As Dr. Bobick planned for his retirement this past year, Houser Newman Associates began their search for his replacement. "We were very fortunate to be able to interview and hire Dr. Christine Gallagher, a recent graduate of PCOM in Philadelphia and a local graduate of Tamaqua Area High School", Dr Donald A Newman said. Dr. Gallagher currently lives in Tamaqua and is planning to stay in the area", added Dr Bobick.
After working with Dr. Gallagher for the past few months, Dr. Bobick and Houser Newman Associates know that she will provide the high quality of eye care that their patients have been accustomed to. "Patients will definitely be satisfied with Dr. Gallagher's pleasant personality and bedside manner. She is an excellent doctor. Our patients will be able to continue visiting the downtown Tamaqua, Lehighton and Nesquehoning offices and receive the high level of care that they always have, thanks to Dr. Gallagher, and all the doctors of Houser Newman Associates" said Bobick.
"I want to thank all of my patients for their loyalty and wish them all continued good health and happy lives," he said. "It's been a pleasure to serve everyone and an honor to be their doctor and friend."
