Ss. Peter and Paul announces Catholic Schools Week activities

SS. Peter and Paul School, Lehighton, which celebrates its 125th anniversary this year, announces it's 2011 Catholic Schools' Week activities.

On Sunday, Jan. 30, the school community kicks off Catholic Schools Week with an open house beginning with mass at 11 a.m. and activities continuing until 2:30 p.m. The school's Academic Fair focusing on the History of the School as it celebrates 125 years will also be open to the public at this time. Tours and registrations will be held at this time.On Monday, Jan. 31, report cards are issued. There will be a "teacher switch" during the day.Tuesday, Feb. 1 is "Teacher Appreciation Day". There will be guest speakers throughout the day and teachers will be treated to a special awards assembly in their honor. It is "School Spirit Day" and students can dress in school spirit attire. There will be Talent Show practice after school to prepare for Friday's second annual talent show.Wednesday, Feb. 2 is "Parent/Grandparent Appreciation Day." Students will honor their families with our Annual Parent/Grandparent Luncheon.Thursday, Feb. 3 is "Pastor Appreciation Day." There will be an 8 a.m. mass including a Blessing of Throats and a presentation by our students to Fr. Mike. It is also "Student Appreciation Day" with awards for each student presented after Mass. A 1 p.m. pep rally will be presented by Marian Catholic High School and there will be Talent Show practice after school.The week of celebration closes on Friday, Feb. 4, with "Pajama Day" and our Second Annual Talent Show sponsored by our Student Council. Students may wear pajamas to school today with shoes or sneakers, no slippers please. Everyone is welcome to join us for our 12:30 p.m. Talent Show showcasing students in grades K-8. Admission is free. Refreshments available.
