For the second time in less than a week the Schuylkill County courthouse had a delay in opening because of adverse weather conditions.

The courthouse did not open until noon Tuesday because of the snow and sleet storm which hit the county late Monday evening and lasted into early morning hours. Fortunately Tuesday morning's court calendar was not too heavy with tax appeals, revocations of parole and probations, summary appeals from district judge verdicts and domestic relations contempt hearings on the calendar.

Today was a very busy schedule.

The county commissioners, in a rarity, held two separate meetings. The first meeting was its public meeting re-scheduled from last Wednesday because the snow storm and then the second meeting was its regular by-weekly work session. The retirement board also held its monthly meeting which had been postponed last week.

Two county judges held sessions to impose sentences on guilty pleas, other judges heard property tax appeals and presided at domestic relations court.
