Palmerton Area School Board has postponed its regular school board meeting until next week.

The board, which was originally scheduled to meet last night, has rescheduled its meeting to 7 p.m. Jan. 24.

Reached via email, Superintendent Carol Boyce told the TIMES NEWS the decision to postpone the meeting was due to the inclement weather.

"We canceled on the basis of safety and the weather," Boyce said. "Many other meetings and night classes and activities at other schools and colleges were also closed on the same basis."

A budget workshop agenda with budget process basics presented by Interim Business Administrator Donna Les will be held at 6 p.m. and precede the regular board meeting, Boyce said.

In the event of bad weather Monday, Boyce said the meeting would be postponed to Tuesday, January 25 at 7 p.m.

The information is posted on the district's web site, www.palmerton.org [1].
