A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence after he fled the scene of a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 3:34 a.m. Sunday along Route 61 in Deer Lake Borough.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Joshua Heckman, 30, of Auburn, was driving a 2002 Ford Mustang southbound when he lost control of the car and traveled into the concrete center divider.The left front of the Mustang hit the barrier, causing the car to become disabled. The car came to rest blocking the southbound lane. After the collision Heckman fled the scene but was later located.He was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and submitted to field sobriety tests. He was then transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville, for a blood test.The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
