The American Cancer Society will host a Look Good, Feel Better makeover workshop from 4-6 p.m., Jan. 24, at the Carbon/Tamaqua Unit Office, 33 W. Ridge St., Lansford.
The session is free and open to all local female cancer patients actively undergoing cancer treatment.
During the session, trained cosmetologists will meet with patients to discuss ways of using makeup and accessories to minimize appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Look Good, Feel Better is offered in a group setting, providing participants with cancer education, information and support.
Each woman will learn to apply makeup, using kits provided through the American Cancer Society's partnership with the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Association and the National Cosmetology Association.
Seating is limited, so registration is required. To register, call 1-888-227-5445, option 1.
There are no charges or fees associated with the workshop.

The Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization met Jan. 10 in the school library with 18 members in attendance.
A get well card was sent to Brenda Sherry, hospitalized in St. Luke's Hospital following an accident.
A dance for students in grades three through five will be held this Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the school gym. Cell phones are not permitted.
A family movie night is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 4.
Membership has now been closed for this school year.
The next meeting will be held Feb. 14, at 6:30 p.m., in the school library.
The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at Sunday's 10:25 a.m. worship service in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.
Also on Sunday, a session of praise, worship and Bible study, in the evangelistic style, will be held at 6:30 p.m.
An hour of praise and prayer will be held Wednesday, beginning at 7 p.m.
The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Nursery care is provided.
Sunday school for all ages is held at 9:30 a.m.
Also on Sunday, a service will be held at the Hometown Nursing Home, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Activities for next week will include: Tuesday, prayer time at 8:30 a.m., Men's Fraternity meets at 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday, GriefShare, adult Bible study and Tamaqua Youth Ministry meet at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, Musician rehearsal at 9 a.m., praise practice at 9:30 a.m.
The Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley.
Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Also on Sunday, the Confirmation class will meet at noon.
A congregational meeting is scheduled for Jan. 23, at noon, in the social hall.
The event will include a covered dish meal.
