Lehighton realtor Mark VanBuskirk, an agent with Castle Gate Realty, announced that he and Dawn Eisenhower will be teaching a mini two hour home buying workshop noon to 2 p.m. March 12 at Castle Rock Realty, conference room, 238 N. First St., Lehighton.

The workshop, entitled "Nothing But the Facts about Home Buying Basics," will cover the basics of purchasing a home in today's real estate market. The outline is designed to help answer fundamental consumer home buying questions and includes such topics as how much down payment is required to purchase a home, what kinds of financing options are available to home buyers, how to start your home buying search, what areas of town are most suited to first time buyers, the process of negotiating an offer to purchase and the final important steps to closing. Special financing expert William Peet from Gateway Financial will also be there to teach a portion of the class plus to pre-quality individuals at no cost. Light refreshments will be served.There is no cost or obligation for the course, and it is open to anyone interested in learning how to purchase a home.
