On Feb. 10 Pocono Mountain Regional police officers conducted a traffic stop in Coolbaugh Township.

The driver was identified Ricardo Powell, 37, Tobyhanna.

After a brief investigation, Powell was initially found in the possession of prohibited offensive weapons, specifically a stun gun and a pair of "shock knuckles".

A further investigation revealed that Powell had prior felony convictions that prohibited his possession of a taser or stun gun type device and he was initially arrested for this violation. With the assistance of K9 Niko, police later located two baggies of crack cocaine packaged for street level sales on Powell's person.

The investigation led officers back to the residence where Powell had been residing at 162 Main Street. Officers located additional quantities of crack cocaine, ecstasy pills, digital scales and packaging materials used to sell cocaine. Police also seized approximately $650 in U.S. currency and Powell's vehicle as a result of the investigation, which will both be subject to forfeiture under the Controlled Substances Act.

Powell was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, criminal conspiracy, criminal use of a communication device, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
