The Slatington Womn's Club has named Nicole Czarnecki of Slatedale as the December Girl of the Month.

A senior at Northern Lehigh High School, she is involved in the yearbook, is manager for the boys' soccer team and plays for the girls' varsity soccer team.

As an active member of the Class of 2011, she has helped in decorating for Homecoming, attended meetings and offered up ideas for fundraisers. Part of the Senior Class video committee, she films, takes pictures and will eventually be helping to put the video all together.

She is a candidate for the National Honor Society.

Also as a sophomore she was chosen to be captain of the varsity soccer team.

She enjoys volunteering at Cedarbrook Nursing home and taking her dog, Czar, who is a therapy dog and visits the patients there. In her free time she enjoys reading and loves to write.

Her future plans include graduating as valedictorian of Northern Lehigh's Class of 2011, then off to Penn State University for a masters in Marketing.

She would also like to continue in her Chinese studies.

Nicole is the daughter of Shannon Czarnecki, a cosmetologist who owns her own business at home, and her dad, Michael Czarnecki, the service manager at Rentschler's in Slatington, where he has worked for over 20 years.

Her brother Nathaniel Czarnecki, 15, is in 9th grade at NLHS, plays soccer and hopes to be a mechanical engineer one day. Her brother, Jerod Czarnecki, 10, is in 5th grade at Slatington Elementary School and also plays soccer.
