Palmerton's wrestlers finished second in the Catasauqua Duals over the weekend, while Northern Lehigh ended up fourth in the Brandywine Tournament.

Palmerton's lone loss in the Catasauqua Duals over the weekend came to eventual team champion Lake Lehman, giving the Blue Bombers second place with a 4-1 record. The host Roughies finished in third place with a 3-1 mark and Bryan Carter of Lake Lehman won the Leroy Bolmer Outstanding Wrestler Award.

Josh Evans (113), Sam Oberlander (120), Cody Grohotolski (152,160) and Kane Kralik (220,285) all finished the day unbeaten with five victories.

Lehighton, No. Lehigh in Bullet Invitational

Northern Lehigh and Lehighton represented the area in the Bullet Invitational at Brandywine Heights and the Bulldogs finished in fourth, while the Tribe took seventh out of the participating eleven teams.

LHS' Michael Balliet pinned NL's Kyle Greenawald at 170 to earn the championship, as Balliet was the sole local to win their respective weight class.

NL had two individual second place finishes, as Brandon Loch and Ty Herzog took silvers at the 285 and 145 pound weight classes, respectively. Teammates Kyle Schomp (220) and Dylan Hofmann (152) finished third in their roundups.

Lehighton's Joe Smith took second at 182, while teammates Jacob Hoats (113) and Anthony Farole (160) settled for thirds.

Northwestern-Nazareth Invitational

Northwestern finished sixth out of eight teams in the Nazareth Invitational over the weekend with 90.5

Council Rock South, the eventual champion, earned 191.2 points.

Levi Veppert was the lone Tiger gold medalist as he won all four bouts he wrestled at 182 pounds.

Tamaqua in DKI Bloomsburg Tourney

Tamaqua's Colin Mashack led the Blue Raiders, finishing with a silver medal at 113 at the Darren Klingerman Wrestling Tournament in Bloomsburg on Saturday.

Mashack recorded falls in 18 second and one minute before losing in the final to Sullivan County's Shawn Nitczinski by a 4-1 decision.

Brandon Silkowski finished in third place at 160 with a 2:49 fall over Tri-Valley's Colton.

Evan Mashack was the fifth place finisher at 152 pounds, while Dylan Rynkewicz was sixth at 126.
