State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes investigated by troopers, both occurring on Tuesday, Dec. 6, along Schuylkill County roadways.
The first crash occurred about 12:25 p.m. along SR61, near Pheasant Run Road, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Joseph P. Graydus, 28, of Pottsville, was operating a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup truck southbound when the vehicle lost traction and began to spin counter-clockwise. Graydus applied the brakes but lost contol.
The vehicle left the road and traveled about 15 feet up an embankment as it continued to rotate counter-clockwise for about 105 feet. The truck then began to rollover onto its right side, re-entered the road, and came to rest on its wheels on the road.
Graydus was not injured. Troopers said he was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
The second crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. along SR125 (Tremont Road), in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Tara L. Rusnak, 32, of Minersville, was operating a 2007 Hyundai Elantra northbound when a pedestrian attempted to cross the road in front of her. She swerved to avoid the pedestrian and lost control on the wet road.
Her car continued across the southbound lane while turning counter-clockwise. The car went onto the berm and struck a legally parked utility trailer on the right side. After impact the Elantra continued north before sideswiping a utility pole and coming to rest in a grass ditch.
Rusnak and her passenger, Tonya Moyer, 28, of Pine Grove, sustained minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention.
