Lehighton Police Sgt. Joseph Lawrence reported that an attempted child abduction took place at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, near the playground area of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School.

A 7-year-old was playing in the fenced in area when the child saw a Rice Krispie Treat that was not in the wrapper. As the child walked toward the treat a man got out of a vehicle and invited the child to come and get it. The child instead said that it would get its grandmother and man got back in the vehicle and left the area.The car was reported to be a blue four-door car with rust. The man was reported to be bald.
