Cathy Seacrest of Jim Thorpe, a teacher from Super Science & Amazing Art, with the motto of "It's fun for your whole brain," conducted a Day Camp at the Palmerton Area Library during the week of July 12-16. It was a Super Science-Inventors Workshop for children. On Wednesday, the children learned how to make a car using household items like wooden skewers, plastic lids, notecards, paper and propelled by inflated balloons. Here Maia Lacy, Nicholas Sabo and Jesse Dekorte race their cars against each other. Library Director Diane Danielson said the kids had a great time and the library is very grateful to Horsehead Resources Development Fund for sponsoring this camp and the day camp next week, Amazing Art-Creative Minds of Music. If you would like to learn more about the library's Summer Reading Program which will be held every Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. to the end of July or about the Amazing Art Day Camp, call the library at 610-826-3424 for more info.
