The Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, conducted an age compliance check detail in Palmerton Borough between 6-10 p.m. Aug. 30, checking out five establishments to determining if they were in compliance with state liquor laws.

Police said officers checked the license establishments by utilizing supervised underage buyers in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages, but found four of the five businesses checked into did not break the law.

Police said one licensee served the underage buyer, although the name of that business was not released by authorities.

The premises found to be compliant, having not served alcohol to the underage buyer, were identified as the Purple Cow, Palmerton Hotel, Joey B's and M & S Reis Enterprises, trading as the Beer Zone.
