Road work and property matters were the bulk of Polk Township Supervisors meeting.

Property matters included giving a time extension to the request for the preliminary/final land development plan of a Commercial Solar Farm. The Planning Commission had recommended the time extension to Dec. 11. Both Chairman Ahner and Vice Chairman Michael Hurley voted affirmatively on the request with Supervisor Nancy May absent due to a family matter.

The duo also voted 2-0 on the Keith Brown Minor Subdivision on the condition that several minor issues be resolved by agreement of the township solicitor and the township engineer.

The same two township employees and the zoning/codes officer will try to resolve a situation that involves an agricultural driveway becoming a residential driveway if the property owner puts a house on a 30-acre-plus parcel.

Having made an inspection of the site, the engineer saw other problems and he needs more information so he can see "the whole picture."

Solicitor James Fareri announced that the closing on the Dotter property has been held.

Engineer Russell Kresge reported that one footer has been poured at Lower Middle Creek, but it keeps raining. Once the rain stops the integrity of the footer will be reviewed. He is also working the the specifications for the bridge and hopes to post a weight limit on Carney Road.

Fawn Circle in the Tall Pine Acres development, stated to be on the south side of the Pleasant Valley Elementary School complex, is the concern of resident Robert Turnicky.

"Who owns the road?" he asked, not having found satisfactory answers through research he says he has done and explaining the condition of the road.

The answer he was given is that the property owners are responsible.

Cooperation among the property owners was suggested, including setting up a property owners association.

Chairman Ahner reported that a large box has been installed on Green Hill Road to catch drainage water and that he is still not happy with the line painting.

He also reported that patching is ongoing and that street signs have been ordered.

The supervisors referred Louis Domanico III's "looking for flexibility" in regard to signs for his business to the Planning Commission on advice of Solicitor Fareri and said the Zoning Hearing Board would be involved in a possible business coming to the former J&J site.

They approved the expenditure of $495 for a 3-page website by DLR Webservices, including updates, for the year, with annual rates being $240 thereafter.

They also approved two resolutions 2-0 including appointing Nancy May as liaison to Berkheimer for EIT collection and authorizing Berkheimer to impose and retain costs of collection/delinquent taxes.

Also approved was purchasing hoists for garage doors, pending whether costs given was for one or four. If for one, the approval will be tabled.

And, the township will arrange a meeting to see if it is in compliance with its ordinances in regard to floodplain ordinance requirements.
