The Panther Valley varsity cheerleaders brought attended Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) cheer camp at Pine Forest's Trails End facility Aug. 16-19.

Approximately 800 cheerleaders attended from 37 teams, including 22 varsity teams.

PV placed fourth among all varsity teams with a dance that they brought from home on the first evening of camp. During camp, they learned cheer, dance, and stunt material, as well as crowd-leading techniques and school spirit ideas.

PV earned all Superior ribbons during their evaluations during the week.

On the final day at the Camp Championships, the Panthers competed in the Small Varsity division (15 members and below). They placed third in the cheer division and won first place in the Xtreme routine, a combination of dance, stunts, jumps, etc.

It was the Panthers initial first place in Camp Championships ever, an accomplishment made even more impressive in that they beat teams that included Franklin Regional from Pittsburgh, former UCA National Champions.

Head coach Hallie Seiwell and assistant coach Heidi Seiwell expect the Panthers to continue their success in competition this year.
