The Concourse Club of Palmerton is once again holding its annual Art and Photography Show on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 11 from 1-4 p.m.
It will be held at the Sacred Heart Church Hall at Third and Lafayette Ave., across the street from the Palmerton Borough Park during the Palmerton Community Festival.
They are looking for people to enter recently done orginal art and photography.
There are two categories: Category 1: Painting (allmedia); Category 2: Photography (color and black/white.)
Cash prizes and/or gift certificates will be awarded in each category for Best of Show, People's Choice, First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention.
Computer art will not be accepted. Evidence of this will result in rejection of the piece.
There is a limit of three entries per category. Work must not exceed four feet (4') in either direction and must be framed and securely wired and braced for hanging.
Framing systems that are fragile, flimsy or difficult to handle cannot be accepted.
Pieces not suitably prepared for hanging will be rejected.
Artists may pre-register from now through Sept. 8 by mailing registration forms and an entry fee for each work to Vinita Horinko, 815 Hickory Rd., Palmerton, PA 18071. Phone: 610-377-0530. Make checks payable to Concourse Club. Entry fee for art registered at the door, Friday, Sept. 9, will be charged an extra dollar for each work. A commission fee of 20 percent will be collected by the Concourse Club on artwork sold at the Exhibit.
Artwork must be submitted by Fridav, Sept. 9 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church Hall.
Artwork must be picked up by Sundav. Sept. 11 between 4-5 p.m. (ldentification will be necessary for release of artwork.)
The submission of an entry shall constitute an agreement by the entrant not to hold the Concourse Club of Palmerton responsible for damage to, or theft of, any work.
The exhibit will be under constant supervision and artwork will be insured. lt is important for insurance purposes that you include the value of each entry on the registration coupon.
The Bargain Corner is for those artists that may wish to sell their works, but not have them judged.
These works must be priced less than $150, may be framed or unframed and must have been done by the artist submitting them.
A fee per piece will be charged for non-Concourse Club members.
A commission of 20 percent will be charged on all works sold.
