Schuylkill Couny businesses cited

Three Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

BJC 237 Inc., trading as Paul Revere's Patriot Tavern, 149-151 Second St., Coaldale, was cited for used, or permitted to be used on the inside of the licensed premises, a loudspeaker or similar device whereby the sound of music or other entertainment, or the advertisement thereof, could be heard outside. The alleged violation occurred on April 2.The tavern was also cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to one visibly intoxicated patron. The violations allegedly occurred on April 2 and 3.Also cited was the American Legion Home Association, 23-25 E. Main St., Tremont, for selling alcoholic beverages to non-members. The violations allegedly occurred on April 10, May 4 and 18.The Mustang Inn, 82 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, was cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to one minor, 19 years old, on April 30.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge.
