Officials from Air Products and Chemicals, Hometown, recently presented the Schuylkill United Way with the proceeds from their annual spring golf tournament, a total of $17,000. "This really made a big difference for us," said Kelly Malone, the executive director of the Schuylkill County Way, who accepted the check on behalf of the organization.
The tournament was held in June, at the Mountain Valley Golf Club, in Barnesville.
This year was the seventh golf tournament that Air Products has organized to benefit the United Way. West Side Hammer Electric, of Bethlehem, partnered with Air Products to sponsor the event.
"Our partnership with Air Products and the United Way in the 7th Annual Hometown United Way Golf Tournament is just one example of many people working together to achieve a successful result for the local community," said Luke Cunningham, the president of West Side Hammer. Cunningham received a plaque thanking him and his company for their support.
