Pocono arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on arrests made by officers recently.

On July 5 about 12:19 a.m. officers were dispatched to a domestic incident at the Mt. Pocono campground. On scene Cecelia Giamoni, 51, reported she was assaulted by her husband, Gene Giamoni, 46, both of Bangor. Police noted the two are currently separated. Mrs. Giamoni suffered a moderate injury to her right forearm and knees when pushed into a metal fire ring.

Gene Giamoni was placed under arrest for simple assault and arraigned before a district judge. He was lodged in the county prison in Snydersville. Mrs. Giamoni was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment, police added.

On July 9 about 12:13 p.m. at Bill's Sure Save Market, located along SR940, in Mt. Pocono, Timothy H. Knecht, 61, and Angelo A. Grella, 79, both of Pocono Summit, got into a physical altercation, police said, after Grella attempted to enter the market through the exit door as Knecht was leaving.

Both men were charged with disorderly conduct, police said.

On July 8 about 6:06 p.m. officers responded to the Pocono Country Place Administratiive building for a report of an intoxicated female creating a disturbance. On scene officers found Teresa Schmartz, 45, of Tobyhanna, exhibiting several signs of intoxication. She was placed under arrest for public drunkenness and later released to the custody of a friend.

On Monday, July 12, about 9 p.m. officers investigated a domestic incident in Tobyhanna. After completing the initial investigation, police received a report from a woman that Jake Hanton was causing a disturbance outside the home and using profanities and threatening to assault her.

Police said  Hanton was then charged with disorderly conduct.
