Pottsville woman facing charges

A Pottsville woman is facing a variety of charges after she was discovered passed out in her vehicle in Tamaqua.

Officers on patrol at 1:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, observed a parked red Chevrolet Blazer partially blocking the eastbound lane of travel on West Broad Street. A woman, identified as 34-year-old Jennifer Probition, was slumped behind the driver's wheel. The keys were in the ignition and the engine was running.After several attempts officers were able to rouse Probition, who exhibited signs of intoxication. She was given and failed field sobriety tests, then gave officers permission to search her vehicle.In plain view officers found a used syringe, two spoons and three small silver containers covered with a white powdery substance. They also found two containers marked as bath salts, two small baggies with a white powdery residue, five more used syringes and an almost full box of unused syringes.Probition will be charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and drug related charges, pending toxicology and lab test results.
