Ten defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Tuesday before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.
The 10 were:
William Maurer, 19, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count each of simple assault, disorderly conduct and underage drinking, the last two summary offenses. He was arrested on March 12 by Jim Thorpe police for an incident in the area of 132 Center St. The assault victim was Officer Leo Clements Jr.
Nanovic placed him on probation for 18 months on the assault count, six months on the conduct charge, running consecutively, and imposed a fine of $100 on the drinking count.
Maurer was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance on D&A use, submit to random testing and his driver's license suspended for 90 days because of the underage drinking charge.
He was given credit for 31 days spent in jail on the charges.
Laura Alvin, 25, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on July 12, 2010, by Lehighton police at her residence.
She was placed on probation for six months and ordered to get her General Education Diploma (GED), zero tolerance on D&A use and submit to random testing.
James A. Herold, 50, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of bad checks. He was arrested by Lansford police, with Mary Huber the listed victim.
He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to make restitution to the victim in the amount of $500.
Jodelle Marie Lamoreaux, 41, of Nanticoke, pleaded to one count of retail theft. She was arrested by Mahoning Township police for an incident at the Wal-Mart store. She stole a desktop computer valued at $1,075.68.
Nanovic placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to seek fulltime employment and report weekly on her efforts to find a job to the adult probation office, and render three hours of community service per month while on probation.
She was given credit for two days spent in jail on the charge. The computer was recovered by the store.
Lucy A. Morales, 50, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count each of harassment and disorderly conduct, both summary offenses. She was arrested on Sept. 22, 2010, by Jim Thorpe police for a domestic incident at her residence with Jesus A. Morales, the listed victim.
Nanovic imposed a fine of $25 on each count.
John William Neville, 52, of Albrightsville, pleaded to one count of driving under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on Sept. 15, 2009, along Saginaw Drive, in Penn Forest Township. No blood/alcohol report was listed in the arrest.
Nanvoic deferred sentencing to a later date.
Robert A. Robinson III, 25, of Ji
