Hess Windows and Doors held its grand opening and ribbon cutting recently at its new Tamaqua location located at 56 Mauch Chunk Street, which was previously occupied by Kennedy Pharmacy, as well as the Medicine Shoppe.

During the grand opening, guests and customers were treated to a tour, explanation of products, free food, snacks and coupons. Hess Windows, which also has another showroom on Tilghman Street in Allentown and was founded in 1946, currently employs 12-15 people, most living locally.

Owner Jeff Bonacci, of Nesquehoning, stated, "We had to completely gut and remodel the building." He also pointing out the building's need for all new wiring, plumbing, windows and more. He added, "Over 20 years ago, I sat in the same chair that can be found in my Allentown office today. I accepted minimum wage to install doors and windows. I saw the opportunity to work for a company with a 40-year reputation of honesty, stability, integrity, and quality of goods and services. From that first interview, I could see the promise of Hess Windows & Doors, previously known as Hess Aluminum."

Hess Windows offers a large variety of products, such as windows, entry/storm doors, aluminum awnings, patio rooms, and more. Customer Donna Yacobenas stated, "We are glad to have them here and any new business is great for our area." Bonacci pointed out that he keeps his prices down and quality high by doing their own installations, instead of using contractors. For more information, call 570-668-8866 or visit HessWindows.com.
