The West Penn Township board of supervisors will change their communications provider and save about $2,500 over three years.

At Monday's board of supervisors meeting, Chairman Alfonso Martinez said it's a matter of cost.

"We're looking into phone service. We're currently paying $400. Blue Ridge will come in at $331 for phone and cable. We'll be saving about $71 a month."

The township's current provider is Line Systems, Inc., providing the township with phone service for $350 per month, Internet access for $50 and cable TV for free.

Blue Ridge Cable, Palmerton, would provide the township with phone, Internet and cable TV for one flat $331 fee. The price includes unlimited local, regional and long distance calls, and 14 phone features with free installation.
