An elderly woman is facing a charge of hit and run following an incident that occurred about 1:56 p.m. on March 25, along SR209 in front of the Rainbow Plaza, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Patricia Anita Bowen, 72, of Kunkletown, and Shelby Rogouski, 46, of Saylorsburg, were both northbound. Troopers said Rogouski stopped to make a left turn when the rear of her 2008 GMC Canyon was struck by the front of Bowen's 2005 Chrysler mini van. After impact both drivers pulled to the side of the road, but after a brief moment, Bowen got back into her vehicle and fled the scene.She was stopped a time later along SR715 at Firehouse Lane. Bowen was identified as the driver involved in the rear-end collision earlier.Charges are pending, troopers said.
