Judge D. Michael Stine held hearings Thursday in the Schuylkill County Court on appeals from summary convictions and ruled as follow:
Rani-Lynn Frock, Rear 320 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, won her appeal from a summary conviction of a truancy charge. A district justice imposed a $89 fine on a truancy charge. Judge D. Michael Stine ruled not guilty.
Dennis Paul Dunkel, 51, Pottsville, won his appeal when the court found him not guilty of a charge of harassment. A district justice fined him $100 plus $149 costs.
Thomas Brooks Wheeler, 61, Orwigsburg, had appealed from a conviction by a district justice of a charge of failing to stop for a red light last April 2 on Mauch Chunk Street in Pottsville. He failed to appear at the court hearing and his appeal was dismissed and the order of the district justice remains in force.
Melissa A. Beck, 26, Schuylkill Haven, lost her appeal as Judge Stine found her guilty of driving while her operator's license was suspended and she has to pay $296.50 in fines and costs.
Justin Michael Burke, 20, Orwigsburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless driving and was fined $25 plus $50 costs after charges of driving a vehicle on a highway in a race was dismissed. He had been found guilty of the racing charge by a district justice who imposed a fine of $200 plus $84.50 costs. Burke withdrew his appeal from a charge of disorderly conduct and was fined $200 plus $84.50 costs.
Robert Joseph Helt, 45, Pottsville, who had appealed from a charge of disorderly conduct withdrew his appeal and entered a guilty plea and Judge Stine fined him $300 plus costs.
Melissa Harris, 27, Shenandoah, had her appeal from a charge of operating a vehicle and failing to display a driver's license dismissed by court because the appeal was untimely filed. The fine of $300 imposed by a district justice plus $96.50 costs stands.
Roger Weikel, 54, Shenandoah, was judged not guilty by Judge Stine of charge of disturbance of the neighborhood by a barking dog.
Scott D. Thompson, 42, Elizabethtown, Dauphin County, withdrew his appeal and entered a gully plea to a charge of driving a commercial vehicle without a proper license and was fined $50 costs.
Melissa Robinson, 22, Pottsvile, failed to appear for hear appeal hearing and the appeal was dismissed and the fine and costs imposed by a district justice on a disorderly conduct charge of $224 stands.
Melanie Dulina, 28, 106 South Cleveland Street, McAdoo, withdrew her appeal and entered a gully plea to driving an unregistered vehicle and was fined $25 plus costs.
