Church council president Suzanne Cunningham welcomes the Rev. Jeffrey Kistler to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tamaqua. Kistler began his duties as interim pastor at Zion Sept. 30. With Cunningham and Kistler is council secretary Steve Ristila. Kistler will serve the Zion congregation until a new pastor is called. Kistler is the former pastor at Ben Salem UCC in West Penn Township before his retirement from full-time pastoral service. Zion's Sunday service is a 9:30 a.m. and Sunday school at 8:30. All are welcome.
