The engagement of Melissa Luchetta of East Providence, R.I. to Christian Caputo, also of East Providence, has been announced by their families.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Stephen and Verna Luchetta of Andreas. She is a 2005 Tamaqua Area High School graduate, and a 2007 graduate of LCCC, where she received an associate degree in veterinary technology. She is employed as a licensed veterinary technician at Atwood Animal Hospital in Cranston, R.I.The prospective bridegroom is the son of Robert and Lisa Caputo of Tamaqua, and Juli Nunemacher of Lehigh Acres, Fla. He is a 2008 graduate of CCTI, and is currently attending Johnson & Wales University for a bachelor's degree in network engineering.The couple, who became engaged at Christmas, are planning a wedding for the summer of 2013.
