Thirteen people entered guilty pleas to criminal charges recently in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Jacqueline Russell with three drawing state prison sentences and three county prison commitments.

David V. Weller, 38, Mahanoy City, harassment, pay a fine of $100 and court costs. Charges of endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault were nol prossed.

Tessie Ann Harding, 33, Pottsville, driving under the influence (DUI), sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Sept. 7 at noon, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), attend alcohol highway safety school, enroll in Group Intervention Program, perform 20 hours of community service and driver's license suspended 12 months. Harding previously was placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Dispositiion (ARD) probation program but it was revoked from it for failure to complete all conditions.

Michelle Teresa Theobold, 44, Mahanoy City, on a DUI chage was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison beginning Sept. 3 at noon followed by four years and 11 months on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), pay a fine of $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service and license suspended 18 months. On a charge of driving while operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 plus costs.

Amanda Chenoweth, 43, Denver, Lancaster County, on a charge of retail theft from Walmart Store, Saint Clair, was given credit for serving seven days in the county prison and was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and perform 20 hours community service. She was also ordered not to enter the store during her probation period.

Justin Joseph Jalbert, 31, Pottsville, two counts of disorderly conduct, fined $200 and costs.

Grace Constance Credidio-Emery, 45, Minersville, on a chage of criminal attempt to commit theft by passing two counterfeit travelers checks was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and perform 20 hours community service. On a charge of possessing an instrument of crime received a concurrent sentence of 12 months on probation.

Lisa Marie Gilbert, 38, Cressona, on a resisting arrest charge was given credit for serving 37 days in the county prison and was placed on parole for 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and perform 20 hours community service. On a disorderly conduct charge she received a concurrent 12 months probation.

Nathan David Joppy, 47, Pottsville, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and perform 20 hours community service. On a charge of public drunkenness was fined $100 and costs. A charge of scattering rubbish in the city was nol prossed.

Kevin Keene Ketchledge Sr., 52, Mahanoy City, retail theft from Sears Store, Schuylkill Mall, placed on probation 12 months and pay $50 to CJEA. On a second count of criminal conspiracy received a concurrent 12 months probation. He must perform 40 hours community service and shall not enter Sears Department Store during his probation.

Justin William Kline, 21, Pottsville, criminal conspiracy with accomplices to commit burglary, sentenced to serve 15 to 30 months in a state correctional instituiton, pay $50 to CJEA and perform 20 hours community service. Charges of burglary, robbery, assault and theft were nol prossed and he can't have contact with people at 311 W. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Joshua D. Kopinetz, 23, Pottsville, on a charge of carrying a firearm without a license (revolver) was sentenced to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution beginning Sept. 10 at 9 a.m., pay $50 to CJEA and perform 20 hours community service. On a charge of driving while operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 plus costs. He was charged by Patrolman Brian Pyle, Minersville police, with theft of a pickup truck belonging to Harold Callaghan, New Philadelplhia, which was involved in an accident with a car operated by Harold Block in Minersville.

Leonard Irving Robinson, 56, Pottsville, illegally obtaining housing assistance payments from Pottsville Housing Authority was sentenced to serve two to four years in a state correctional institution beginning Sept. 10 at10 a.m., pay $50 to CJEA, perform 20 hours community service and make restitution of $10,176 to housing authority.

Steven Rowe, 43, Pottsville, on charges of forgery, criminal attempt to commit theft, identity theft and passing bad checks was sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison beginning Sept. 3 at 9 a.m., pay $50 to CJEA, $50 to district attorney's office for bench warrantand perform 20 hours community service.

Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
