State police at Fern Ridge reported the arrest of a driver at a sobriety checkpoint.

Troopers said Timothy Getz, 27, of Nazareth, entered the checkpoint at Jonas and Merwinsburg roads, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, about 11:36 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11. Getz did not have any identification on him.Troopers learned his identity and also that his license was under suspension. While speaking with Getz troopers determined he was under the influence. He failed field sobriety tests. Also found on him was suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in his pockets.Getz was placed under arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) and possession of a controlled substance.
