Candidate Picciano's signs reported stolen

Dr. Dante Picciano, an independent candidate for state representative in the 124th legislative district, is reporting that his campaign signs are being stolen in the West Penn Township and Tamaqua areas.

West Penn Township police confirmed Monday that Picciano reported to them that between 12-15 signs were removed from state routes 443, 895 and 309 in the township over the weekend.In a news release, Picciano stated that, on Oct. 16, five signs were reported stolen in and around the intersection of routes 309 and 895 in the township. On Oct. 17, two signs were stolen along 443, two signs near the intersection of 443 and 309, three signs along 309 in the township and two signs at the entrance of Owl Creek Road in Tamaqua.Stealing of the campaign signs is a criminal act punishable by law. Anyone with information about these thefts should report the information to the township police at (570) 386-1100 or the Tamaqua police at (570)668-6100.Picciano is offering a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone stealing his campaign signs.
