Tamaqua Area School District reaped a bonanza in real estate taxes on several properties as the Schuylkill County Assessment Appeals Board, after a hearing Friday in the courthouse on tax assessment appeals filed by the school district, granted increases on market values and assessments on 19 properties located in the school district boundary for 2011 year real estate taxes.

Lehigh Asphalt Paving Construction Company, Box 549, Tamaqua, owners of a 16 acre tract along Township Route 960 in Andreas, West Penn Township, market value increased from $6,160 to $53,250 and assessment from $3,080 to $26,625, an increase of $23,545 in assessment and on 26.5 acres tract located along Township Route 960 in Andreas, market value increased from $9,490 to $58,240 and assessment from $4,745 to $29,120, an increase of $24,375 in assessment.

Chris and Lisa Gantner, Sinking Spring, Berks County, owners of 2.45 acres tract along Route 902 in New Ringgold, market value increased from $1,220 to $20,800 and assessment from $610 to $10,400, an increase of $9,790 in assessment and on 15.87 acres tract along Township Route 902 in New Ringgold, market value increased from $6,320 to $104,000 and assessment from $3,160 to $52,000, an increase of $48,840 in assessment.

Frank and Anna Tercha, Fogelsville, owner of parcel containing 0.36 of an acres on south side of West Penn Road, New Ringgold, market value increased from $900 to $6,660 and assessment from $450 to $3,330 on property at 330 Owl Lane, New Ringgold, market value increased from $183,990 to $347,560 and assessment from $91,995 to $173,780, an increase in assessment of $81,785; on property on south side of Penn Road, Andreas, market value was decreased from $311,110 to $240,860 and assessment from $155,555 to $120,430, a decrease of $35,125 in assessment.

LRD Real Estate Holdings, LLC, 90 Lake Drive, Lake Harmony, owners of property at 401 Pine St., Tamaqua, market value increased from $66,850 to $77,380 and assessment from $33,425 to $38,690, an increase of $5,265 in assessment and a similar increase was rendered on property at 403 Pine St., Tamaqua, market value increased from $66,850 to $77,380 and assessment from $33,425 to $38,690, an increase of $5,265.

James E. and Randa R. Hull, owners of property at 525 Schuylkill Avenue, Tamaqua, market value increased from $54,880 to $108,160 and assessment from $27,440 to $54,080, an increase of $26,640 in assessment and on parcel containing 0.02 of an acre on West Schuylkill Avenue, Tamaqua, market value increased from $1,590 to $1,660 and assessment from $795 to $830, an increase of $35 in assessment.

TKT Miller Partners, 10 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, owners of a commercial property at 123 Broad St., Tamaqua, market value increased from $61,650 to $73.220 and assessment from $30,825 to $36,610 an increase of $5,785 in assessment and on property on Mauch Chunk Street, Tamaqua, market value increased from $4,800 to $4,990 and assessment from $2,400 to $2,495, an increase of $95 in assessment.

Air Products and Chemicals Inc., Allentown, owners of a two and one-half story building on 1.21 acres of land located west of the intersection of Legislative Routes 53040 and 53090 in Rush Township, market value increased from $124,360 to $295,360 and assessment from $62,180 to $147,680, an increase of $85,500 in assessment.

Theodore Keich and Jessica Marmas, owners of property at 182 Troxell Valley Road, Andreas, West Penn Township, market value increased from $68,570 to $137,280 and assessment from $34,255 to $68,640, an increase of $34,355 in assessment.

Paul Warner, 78 Walnut Lane, Andreas, owner of 68 acres along a public road leading from Zehner's Mill to Lewistown in Walker Township, market value increased from $68,630 to $169,380 and assessment from $34,315 to $84,690, an increase of $50,375.

Lee and Jacqueline Shafer, 7 Rose Lane, New Ringgold, owners of 4.447 acres in Chain Circle, New Ringgold, market value increased from $23,420 to $35,780 and assessment from $11,710 to $17,890, an increase of $6,180 in assessment.
