Yenser's Tree Farm will again be donating real Christmas trees as part of the nationwide Trees for Troops program, sponsored by Pennsylvania Christmas Tree Growers Association, the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx Corp.

Trees for Troops Weekend will be Dec. 3-5.

Also on Friday, Dec. 3, there will be a kickoff ceremony with color guard, local school and scout troops, local dignitaries, National Guard and veterans. On hand will be state Rep. Elect Doyle Heffley.

Yenser's Tree Farm has been an active contributor to the Trees for Troops program since it began in 2005, serving as a collection point for Pennsylvania trees. This year, Yenser's will place a tree for a troop on a drop trailer for $25 and donate $5 to the Christmas Spirit Foundation for each tree purchased.

Yenser's Tree Farm will offer a 10 percent military discount to any military personnel with a current military ID card.

An additional discount will be given to any military family that has a member serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

On Trees for Troops weekend, Yenser's will offer a discount to all consumers on their own tree when they purchase a tree for the Trees for Troops program.

This holiday season, Trees for Troops is expected to collect and deliver more than 17,000 real Christmas Trees to military families across the United States, as well as to soldiers serving overseas. Consumers will also have the opportunity to purchase trees to donate to the program at various FedEx trailer drop locations across the nation.

The local trailer drop is Yenser's Tree Farm, located at 1910 Mahoning Drive East, Lehighton, PA 18235.

The collection and delivery of trees will take place from the end of November through the beginning of December.
