Dear Editor:

If you're a teen in grades 9-12, we are looking for you to come help battle cancer and participate in our first A Battle for the Battle. McCann School of Business & Technology Hazleton and Pottsville Campus are teaming up with T102 Radio to host this teen event on Friday, December 3rd from 6-11 p.m. at Lakeside Ballroom. It will consist of a Battle of the Bands, as well as a Dance Off (think So You Think You Can Dance meets America's Best Dance Crew).

The Battle of the Bands prize includes a recording package. Number of songs performed will be determined by the amount of pre-registered acts. The Dance Off is open to individuals and groups. Prizes include Spa packages. Both events will have a judges panel and a Teen Choice Award with both winners also having the opportunity to perform at Penn's Peak during the live broadcast of the American Cancer Society's Telethon April 9-10. RC from T102 will DJ in between sets. Besides entertainment, individual school clubs are also encouraged to participate by having booths to sell things.

All Attendees receive a chance to win an iPad with $5 entry fee. Raise $25 and receive 5 chances; receive 25 chances for every $100. As an added bonus, post this event on your Facebook page and receive 5 bonus chances (you must friend Lori Kane to ensure it has been posted). You will also receive an additional chance if you RSVP your attendance to [1].

The school with the most representation in attendance will receive $100 to use toward prom. All the money raised will benefit the local American Cancer Society units in Carbon-Tamaqua; Hazleton; and Schuylkill.
