Dear Editor:

The people of Carbon County missed a great parade.The weather was sunny but chilly. It may have been cooler for the almost 1,300 parade marchers that waited to parade down Delaware Avenue in Palmerton than it was for the 600-700 people waiting to see the parade.Being the organizer of this year's parade I was ashamed and embarrassed to have these 1,300 parade marchers, from all over Carbon County, march through this almost ghost town. Countless hours and thousands of dollars went in to organizing this parade to support our veterans both past and present.We ask our service men and women to support us twenty-four hours a day three hundred sixty-five days a year to guarantee our freedom we cannot support them one day of the year for an hour and a half. There is something wrong with these numbers. Thanks to the few that did support them and thank you veterans, past and present.
