A sign stating "Free Dog Poop, Come Pick Up" is displayed on both sides of the Tamaqua American Legion's outdoor sign. Those words could be a little misleading, as they are located with their breakfast dates. Ed Smith, a Tamaqua American Legion member, jokingly put those words on there to deter dog walkers from leaving "dog poop" on their sidewalk and in their grass. A resident driving by, stated it is nice to see people still have a sense of humor.
