The Tamaqua Area Community Partnership will hold its Annual Meeting/Cocktail Party on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m. at the Scheller Center of Lehigh Carbon Community College's Morgan Center, Tamaqua.
This year's meeting will include a facilitated discussion with the theme, "Looking Ahead: Priorities for 2011."
The chairpersons of the Partnerships' Steering Committee will present an overview of activities from this year as well as projects that will carry forward into the coming year.
TACP, originally founded in 1994 at the Tamaqua area 2004 Partnership, has worked to improve the quality of life for area residents. It focuses on areas of economic development, downtown revitalization, historic preservation and tourism, and recreation.
The Partnership serves as an umbrella organization for community initiatives such as Downtown Tamaqua, Inc., the Elm Street Program (through the South Ward Neighborhood Committee), Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission, the Spirit of Tamaqua festival committee, among others.
The Partnership has also been involved with Tamaqua's participation in the Blueprint Communities Program, which was renewed for the borough last month.
The meeting is open to the public as well as TACP members.
Anyone interested in attending should contact the Partnership at (570) 668-6899 by Nov. 8.
