Bells to ring

Beginning Nov. 5, the Salvation Army will be ringing bells in connection with its Red Kettle campaign. Various service groups will be helping. In Chestnuthill Township, that outreach will take place at Kinsley's in Brodheadsville.

Lions Board

The board of directors of the Western Pocono Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville. All Lions are welcome.

PV Band Parents

The Pleasant Valley Band Parents will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, at the high school.

Diabetic footcare

Dr. Tanjila Matin, DPM, will present a program on Footcare for Diabetics at Chestnuthill Senior Center, at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 5. The program is free and open to the public.

The following week, at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, Jackie Gannon, diabetic educator, will present a program on Diabetes and You.

The Order Sons of Italy in America, West End Pocono Lodge #2725 will meet at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Chestnuthill Park and Senior Center on Route 715. New members are welcome. Pleasant Valley's All Sports Club will meet at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, in the high school library.

Reptiles in the Park

Free musical

Pleasant Valley Middle School Drama Club will present the "Anchors Aweigh" dress rehearsal at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, for the senior citizens of the community. Seniors are invited to attend this dress rehearsal and meet the cast during intermission. Cookies and punch will be served.

Korean War Veterans

The Korean War Veterans Association, Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter #109 is seeking new members. Any person who has seen honorable service in any of the armed forces of the United States, within Korea (Sept. 3, 1945 to June 25, 1950), within or without Korea (June 25, 1950 to Jan. 31, 1955), or within Korea from Feb. 1, 1955 onwards, is eligible for membership

Thanksgiving service

The Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network will host its annual community Thanksgiving service at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 21, at Salem UCC church in Gilbert.

Choir rehearsals for the service are being held at Salem UCC at 7 p.m., Nov. 11 and Nov. 18. Church choir members and anyone else from the community who loves to sing are welcome.
