Plans have been finalized for the 2010 Summit Hill Memorial Day Parade that will be held on Monday, May 31, in the community. Traditionally, the town hosts Carbon County's largest parade for this holiday, it consisting of five divisions and having participants from throughout Carbon and Schuylkill counties, among others.
Stanley Zuber, a member of American Legion Post 316, will be the guest of honor, serving as grand marshal for the parade, which will step off after he rings the old Summit Hill High School bell in Ludlow Park. The expected start of the parade is 11 a.m.
Prior to the parade, the annual Memorial Day services will be held at 10 o'clock by Post 316 in the center of the park. Carbon County Commissioner William O'Gurek will give the keynote address.
