Moutain Karate brings come 12 trophies and 8 medals

Mountain Karate Academy of Lehgihton recently participated in the 13th Annual USA Karate Championships tournament held in Clarks Summit.

The students came home with 12 trophies and eight medals.The winners were:Cody Meckes (forms, second place)Cheyenne Meckes (forms, first place; sparring, second place)Destiny Stauffer (forms, second place)Gabrielle Stauffer (forms, first place; sparring, second place)Jerry Hauck (jump front kick, second place)Michael Slegel (jump front kick, first place; and forms, second place)MaryGrace Collins (forms, third place)The next event scheduled for Mountain Karate is their 20th Anniversary Celebration, scheduled for Friday, May 21 at the Lehighton Bandshell. The event will run from 5 to 9 p.m. and will feature demonstrations from Mountain Karate Academy, Dance with Kim, and Tumble with Denise. In addition there will be live music provided by Bill Murray and the Crossover Band, vendors, food, and other attractions. The public is welcome to attend.
