A vacant seat on the Lower Towamensing Township board of supervisors is up for grabs.
The township will accept letters of interest from candidates to fill the position until noon on June 7.
Township secretary Christine Wentz said the board could appoint a new supervisor when it meets at 7 p.m. June 8.
Last week, supervisors on a 2-0 vote agreed to accept the resignation of veteran Supervisor Glen Hahn, who had served in that capacity for the past 10 1/2 years.
Contacted last week, Hahn, who had been absent from recent board meetings, declined to comment as to why he chose to resign.
In addition, Hahn also resigned from the township's recreation committee. The township will look to fill that vacancy as well.
