Legion, auxiliary will conduct Armed Forces Day celebration

The American Legion Post 360 and the American Legion auxiliary Unit 360 will once again hold "Operation: Armed Forces Day a Celebration of America" at Eurana Park in Weatherly on Saturday, May 15, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The day will start with opening ceremonies and the signing of the Armed Forces Community Covenant. This document will be signed by all community and civic groups, members of the education, business leaders, youth groups, and service men living in the community to show support of the military.The Rolling Thunder Group, the National Guard, and the VA hospital will also be present for the day.There also be war memorabilia. The flag retirement service, the flag folding service and the MIA/POW Ceremony will also be conducted.The park stand will be opened to purchase food. The legion will be selling Poppies and Boscov's "Friends helping Friends" cards.The event will be held rain or shine and it will be a day of ceremony and a day of information and of memories.
