Jennifer Arner, a junior at Muhlenberg College, has been named to the fall 2009 dean's list for the fifth straight semester.

A Muhlenberg Scholar, Jennifer is working toward a dual major in English and communications. She is a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, where she coordinates the college volunteer program at an Allentown food bank, as well as participates in 2nd Mile, and after school program with Allentown elementary school students.

She is a member of MAC, tutors four subjects, and was chosen to work as a tutor in the college's writing center. She also contributes articles to Muhlenberg College's newspaper.

Jennifer is a 2007 graduate of Lehighton Area High School.

Jessica Arner, a freshman at Elizabethtown College, has been named to the fall 2009 dean's list. She received the award for Academic Excellence and earned membership in the freshman honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta, by earning a GPA over 3.75.

A Presidential Scholar, Jessica is working toward a degree in chemistry. She is a member of the chemistry club, SWEET and is excited to have earned a spot on the advanced dance team "Emotion" as a freshman.

Jessica was valedictorian of the 2009 class of Lehighton Area High School.

Both girls are the daughters of Dr. Kirk and Pam Arner of Lehighton, granddaughters of Dr. Robert and Arlene Arner of Andreas, and Raynor and Joan Leiby of Tamaqua, and great-granddaughters of Helen Wetterau of Tamaqua.
