Both drivers cited after crash

Both drivers involved in a crash along a Schuylkill County roadway were cited. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 3:25 p.m. on Monday, June 28, at the intersection of SR61 and the Jughandle (SR9401) in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Cory S. Kleckner, 31, of Hazleton, as driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier southbound in the right lane while Matthew J. Allison, 37, of Pottsville, was stopped for a red traffic light in the jughandle operating a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck.As the traffic signal turned red for traffic on 61 and green for traffic on the jughandle Allison pulled into the intersection. Kleckner failed to stop for the red light and his vehicle struck the driver's side of Allison's truck with the front end of is car.Kleckner, his passenger, Heather M. Singer, 26, of Freeland, and Allison all suffered minor injuries while a passenger with Allison, Thomas J. Cunningham, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, was not injured. The injured were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, for treatment.Troopers cited Kleckner for stop signs and yield signs and Allison for driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.
