A Monroe County man was arrested this week and charged with raping a 5-year-old girl.
State police at Lehighton arrested Peter John Fursa, 40, of Kunkletown, following an investigation. The alleged acts occurred at a residence in Eldred Township during the period of March 1 to June 7.
Fursa is charged with two counts of rape, six counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, four counts of aggravated indecent assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all felonies; and one count of corruption of minors, a misdemeanor.
Fursa was arraigned before District Judge Jolana Krawitz, of Stroudsburg, and committed to the county prison in Snydersville in lieu of $200,000 cash bail.
